Salvation Army music has always held an important place in Rob’s life. At an early age, musical training came first from The Salvation Army’s junior music sections and continued as he studied at Tyndale University College in Toronto, Canada. Rob enjoys teaching music to young people and has done so through Salvation Army music camps, conservatories and weekly corps programming.
Commissioned as an officer in The Salvation Army in 1998, Rob and his wife, Amy have served primarily in the western United States in Colorado, Arizona and most recently in Washington State before receiving appointments to The Salvation Army’s National Headquarters in Alexandria, VA during the summer of 2008. In addition to serving fulltime as an officer, Rob is currently pursuing a Master’s degree at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, DC.
When he’s not preaching, studying, playing piano or tuba, Rob can be found coaching his son’s baseball team. Rob and his family currently live in Alexandria, VA and thoroughly enjoy exploring all that living on the East Coast has to offer. One of Rob’s favorite verses of Scripture can be found in the 98th Psalm: “Sing a new song to the Lord. He has done wonderful things. By the power of his right hand and his holy arm he has saved his people” (Psalm 98.1 NIrV).
